School Holiday Taster Sessions  14/05/12

From Monday 4th June to Friday 8th June we will be running extra Family Taster sessions. A quick "have-a-go" taster session designed to introduce you to the fun of indoor climbing without committing to a formal course. The session lasts one hour during which you will have the chance to tackle roped climbs and to try bouldering (unroped climbing over a matted area). Minimum age is 6 years old. Adults welcome.

SPA Training  04/05/12

This qualification is aimed at people who would like to instruct groups climbing and abseiling in an outdoor single pitch environment. The course focuses on personal climbing skills and the safe management of groups on natural cliffs.

Prior to attending a training course candidates must be 18 years or over, have at least 12 months rock climbing experience and be registered with Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE).

CWA Training  01/05/12

This award, which UCR has been closely involved in developing, launched in 2008 and is designed for individuals who wish to teach top rope climbing and bouldering on indoor climbing walls and artificial towers. The course focuses on the safe management of groups and the coaching of movement skills. A second module covers group abseiling.Prior to attending a training course candidates must be 17 years of age, have climbed indoors for 6 months and have registered with Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE).
